Liebermann is the Music Alive
Composer-in-residence with the Evansville Philharmonic. Music Alive is a national residency
program of the American Symphony Orchestra League and Meet The Composer. This
national program is designed to provide orchestras with resources and tools to
support their presentation of new music to the public and build support for new
music within their institutions. Funding for Music Alive is provided by the Andrew W.
Mellon Foundation, The Aaron Copland Fund for Music, and The ASCAP Foundation
Joseph & Rosalie Meyer Fund. The
Young People’s Concerts are educational performances designed to introduce
third, fourth, and fifth grade students to the world of orchestral music. The
concerts also aid teachers in achieving curriculum goals set forth in the
National Standards for Art Education by allowing students to examine the nature,
meaning, and value of music. If you
are an educator, and you and your students would like to join the Evansville
Philharmonic Orchestra on their musical tour, please contact the Director of
Education at 812/425-5050. |
