The Fall Line-Up
It's that exciting time of year again when stores get a complete makeover as new fall merchandise rolls in, leaving us with a nostalgic feeling of campfires and cozy sweaters. There's a lot of diversity in this fall's runway trends, which should please all ages and tastes. Here are my favorite picks from this fall's fashion line-up…

fauz leather leggings.jpgBondage Goes Mainstream
Last year in my article, I predicted that leather-like leggings were going to be a big hit. This season, they're finally getting introduced to the masses for you fashion pleasure! These leggings aren't just for Goths and rock n' rollers, though. Pair them with chunky ankle boots, girly tops and oversized sweaters, and they look, dare I say, "normal!" By the end of the season I guarantee you won't be so freaked out by them! Fit tip:  buy them a size too big so they aren't skin tight; they should scrunch slightly around the knees for a less severe look. My favorite pick is this, environmentally and animal-friendly pair by American Apparel, which is available at District.

Scarf It Up!scarf.jpg
Fashion changes all the time, but scarves never go out of
style. You probably saw women (and some very stylish men) wearing lightweight cotton or linen scarves with fringe draped loosely around the neck throughout the summer. This trend is so effortless, and has a European cool about it – so why not carry it over into fall? Lightweight scarves are great transitional pieces. Just wrap loosely around the neck, and pin it into place. Fit tip: oversized, square-shaped scarves drape the best, so buy styles that are approximately 40"l x 40"w. Available at Dillard’s.

asos bell skirt.jpgFor Whom the Bell Tolls
Bell skirts are dainty little pieces with nipped-in waistbands that sit right at the waist, and a cut that curves out slightly at the hips, giving wearers the silhouette of a bell. They're a basic must-have this season, and the emphasis on the waist is a much needed contrast from all of the swingy trapeze shapes of the summer. Bell skirts look great with fitted, tucked-in tops and opaque tights. If you are feeling really adventurous, pair them with the PVC leggings mentioned above! Fit tip: don't try to squeeze into a smaller size. If the skirt is too small, it will cling to your hips and lose the cool shape!
