The more you raise the more you earn prize wise. You can also raise pledges on line by visiting www.vhslifesaver.org. After the walk the VHS hosts games and contests for the dogs such as best trick, best costume, and best bark/howl. The Fido Fest also features a dog wash, games and crafts for the kids, along with a bounce house, clowns and an open area for the dogs to run. While you are there, be sure to check out the pet-related vendors and the VHS food booth.

Registration starts at 9 a.m. for those who have not pre-registered. The walk starts at 10 a.m. and the fun lasts until 2 p.m. Bring your dogs down for a howlin’ good time! VHS asks that all dogs be current on vaccinations, not on a retractable leash and at least 4 mos. of age.

“All in all it a great event that people can participate in with their dogs,” says Diane Whipkey, VHS Special Events Coordinator.
