Abby Bauder (23); daughter
of John & Angela Fehn of Evansville and Don & Cathy Bauder of
Indianapolis is set to marry Milan Maravich (36); son of John & Sandy
Maravich of Edmond, OK, and Wayne and Sandy Smith of Edmond, OK, on March
21, 2009. The ceremony will be held at Salem Church of Darmstadt and
reception at Evansville Country Club. The couple plans to honeymoon at Montego Bay, Jamaica.
On the afternoon of
Thursday, June 12, 2008, Milan
sent me a text message that said "I want to take you out to dinner
after Judge's ball game tonight." Judge is Milan's youngest of three sons. Once we
were at the game, I asked him why we were going out because it was a Thursday
night, and he said it was because we hadn't done anything alone together for a
while.
So we dropped the boys off at home and we went to
Bonefish. Bonefish is where we met for the first time and also had our first
real date. I wasn’t dressed up and hadn't even showered since the game, so
obviously I wasn't expecting this whatsoever. We ordered our food and I
casually said "we have the best memories from this place."
He replied with "Want to make another good
memory?" I looked in his eyes and they were all watery and his hands
were shaking. He then he asked me to marry him! Then, he opened his hands up
and there was the ring!
I immediately started crying and said "Yes, of
course!” All the tables around us were "ooing" and "awwing"
so it was very surreal. Our server, Melody, who is a friend of mine, made
the night even more special. We told her immediately and she started crying
right there at the table! Then, the owner of Bonefish came out and said he
wanted to buy us a bottle of wine and they brought us chocolate covered
strawberries. I was so nuts I didn't even take a bite of my food! However, Milan enjoyed his steak
very much. Many of the tables around us came over to see the ring
and congratulate us.
